
The 2nd round of the total 4, organized by the Balkan Billiards Association in 2023, has concluded with 60 participants at the “Shooters” club in Pristina. The tournament ended with an Albanian final, and the victory went to one of Albania’s finest players – Edmond Zaya, who triumphed in the final over his compatriot Ervish Dervishi with a score of 9:2. Edmond showcased his class and proved that he is one of the best players not only in Albania but also in the Balkans. The bronze medal went to Hristo Vasilevski from Bitola, North Macedonia, who lost in the semi-final to Edmond Zaya with a score of 2:9. The other bronze medal was claimed by the finalist from the previous tournament, Labinot Markaj from Pristina, Kosovo. Both bronze medalists earned the right to represent the Balkans in the “Euro Tour” free of charge, a prize jointly provided by EPBF and BBA.
Four more players who secured the 4th place also reached the award podium. Albanian player Fatos Dervishay finished 4th after losing 3:9 to Labinot Markaj. Another Albanian participant, Erald Selaci, also secured the 4th place, losing in the quarterfinals to the silver medalist Ervish Dervishi with a score of 6:9. Faton Baygora from Kosovo lost to Hristo Vasilevski with a score of 7:9, securing the honorable 4th place. To strengthen Albanian dominance, the last 4th place was taken by Gentian Lengu, losing to the tournament winner Edmond Zaya with a score of 4:9.
The next tournament in the series will take place on 16/17.09.2023 in Thessaloniki, Greece, hosted by the Billiard Center Thessaloniki.
